Recording area

The map is based on one published in the Club's Annual Report for 2010. The Club's recording area, which is totally within Watsonian Vice-county 62 (North East Yorkshire), is shown approximately by the broad green line, and may be described, starting from Ravenscar, as southwest to the Hole of Horcum, west through Cropton Forest, northwest along the heights of the North York Moors to Stony Ridge, spot height 434 mtrs, NZ 632027 above Westerdale, north nearly to Kildale, east-northeast to Liverton Moor, then north-northeast to Staithes, and back along the coast to Ravenscar. Club records also cover UK territorial waters between Ravenscar and Staithes.
